spesso confuso con il mew trick,in parte assomigliandoci,il ditto trick permette di afffrontare quasi tutti i pokemon,anche una buona parte dei pokeglitch e un po' di glitch trainer.
Per far capire come funziona prima vi spiego come funzionava il mew trick(comunque non è obbligatorio quello scommettitutto :molti altri allenatori funzionano).
-start.Come sapete non potete usare start durante il mew trick,questo perchè quando appare il ! il gioco ricordo che tu hai iniziato una lotta nel percorso 8 e fa partire uno script che disabilità start.
-i pokemon che cambiano:quando si va a battere il bullo con slompoke si modificano i dati dell'ultimo pokemon affrontato:questi sono contenuti nella sezione di memoria di 12 byte locata all'indirizzo CD23 in blu e rosso e CD22 in giallo e questi valori hexadecimali sono:
8E 11 00 3C 00 1E 00 1D 00 1C 00 15
8E è un byte che sembra lo stesso per tutte le battaglie
11 è in hexadecimale il byte che indica il livello(11 in decimale=17)
i byte dopo sono le cinque statistiche del pokemon(in quest'ordine:PS,attacco,difesa,velocità,speciali);ogni statistica tiene 2 byte.
questa zione di momaria è circondata dalle parti da 8 byte uguali:07
la parte che interessa a noi è il 15 alla fine che in decimale è 21,l'hex di mew.questo byte è nella sezione di memoria CD2E in rosso e blu e nella sezione CD2D in giallo.Da questa spiegazione potete capire che non è obbligatorio battere un allenatore,ma basta battere un pokemon selvatico anche per riabilitare start.
quando ritorni al percorso 8 il gioco tenta di fare riavviare la battaglia e per motivi ignoti usa la sezione CD2E e il byte successivo(07)per decidere che pokemon affrontare. 07 diventa livello 7 e 15 21 e cioè mew.

N.B.:se il valore è in una cifra si può aggiungere 256.
arriviamo al dunque:facciamo che tu vuoi avere un pokemon e questo ha una statistica difficile da trovare:in quel caso devi allenarti un pokemon con la statistica(di speciali) che ti serve.
iniziamo il mew trick.quando si deve sconfiggere l'allenatore non sconfiggetelo e invece volate vicino a un posto in cui si trova ditto selvatico:mettere davanti il pokemon(con il numero di speciali che vi interessa)e aspettare di trovare un ditto;poi aspettare che ditto faccia trasformazione e sconfiggerlo:volate nel percorso 8(o in qualunque posto avete iniziato il trick) e comparirà il pokemon(al lv.7 ovviamente).In questo modo è possibile trovare molti pokeglitch inottenibili in altri modi.
